Abstract:
Disclosed are: a gasket, of which a surface state with maximized and homogenized airtight performance can be obtained by using only thermally exfoliated vermiculite (TEV) alone without using chemically exfoliated vermiculite (CEV) while the vermiculite is prepared and used by a superficial layer separation method and thus particles are separated layer-by-layer; and a method for manufacturing the gasket. In order to accomplish the above purpose, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the gasket of the present invention comprises: a first composition obtained by separating TEV mixed with water into 10-2000 micrometers by a superficial layer separation method; a second composition, which is any one selected from sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose (MC), hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose (HPMC), hydroxyethylmethyl cellulose (HEMC), and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC); a third composition, which is any one selected from natural rubber latex, styrene butadiene latex, and nitrile butadiene rubber latex and is fed in a content of 5-15 wt% on the basis of TEV; a fourth composition, which is any one selected from epoxy-based, vinyl-based, amino-based, methacryloxy-based, and styryl-based materials and is fed in a content of 1-3 wt% on the basis of TEV; and a fifth composition, which is any one selected from inorganic binders of modified silicates obtained by modifying colloidal silica, silica sol, or silicate and is fed in a content of 0.1-5 wt% on the basis of TEV.
