Abstract:
A longitudinally endless gasket installed in an groove part engraved in the surface of an intake manifold disposed opposedly to a cylinder head opposed to the cylinder head, sealing a clearance between the intake manifold and the cylinder head when the intake manifold is connected to the cylinder head, and having a cross sectional shape corresponding to the cross sectional shape of the groove part, wherein the ratio (H&sol W) of the height (H) to the width (W) of the cross section is 0.8 to 5.0, a plurality of large projected parts are provided on the gasket at intervals of 30 to 100 mm in longitudinal direction and a plurality of small projected parts are provided on the gasket at intervals of 5 to 15 mm in longitudinal direction, the width (R2) of the large projected parts is larger 0.1 to 0.3 mm than the width (X) of the groove part and the width (R1) of the small projected parts is smaller 0.1 to 0.3 mm than the width (X) of the groove part, and the filling rate to the groove part when the intake manifold is connected to the cylinder head is 80 to 100%.
