Abstract:
Provided is a gate valve with which it is possible to satisfactorily cause a seal member to firmly adhere to an inner wall of a fluid pipe in a direction orthogonal to an insertion direction without increasing the force needed to cause the seal member to firmly adhere to the inner wall. The gate valve is provided with, from a through-hole formed in the fluid pipe, a valve body and an actuating mechanism for actuating the valve body along a radial direction, the valve body having a valve main body and a seal member that is provided to a holding part of the valve main body and that can be elastically deformed. A core material comprising a harder substance than does the seal member is embedded between an outer surface on the actuating-direction downstream side of the seal member and an extension-direction distal end surface of the holding part.
