Abstract:
Provided is a gate valve that reduces generation of particles and deterioration of a seal member disposed on a valve body by having the seal member contact an opening surface of a processing unit from a perpendicular direction without swinging the valve body with respect to an opening of the processing unit. This gate valve comprises a moving body that operates together with a valve body, and a conversion mechanism that moves the moving body in each of a perpendicular direction to an opening surface, and a cross direction crossing the perpendicular direction. The conversion mechanism comprises: a first operation mechanism that moves in the cross direction, and moves the moving body in the cross direction; and a second operation mechanism that moves the moving body in the perpendicular direction. The operation by the second operation mechanism includes an operation by an additional movement of the first movement mechanism in the cross direction from a state in which the moving body is restricted from moving in the cross direction.
