Abstract:
A gateway control agent (GCA) is deployed between the media gateway controller (MGC)
of a packet network and a plurality of media gateways (MG), a mapping relation is
established between the MGC and the MGs; the MGC requests the GCA for some services uniformly,
the GCA selects an appropriate resource capacity among the MGs managed by the
GCA, and maps between a single media gateway domain and a media gateway class domain
represented by the GCA. An implementation method of the GCA is also provided. By
the present invention, the MGC treats a plurality of MGs as a resource class, without
need to regard the detail of a MG, and layering control and simplified operation
are achieved.
