Abstract:
According to the present invention, a gateway 300 connected to a bus, which multiple ECUs 100a-100d mounted on a vehicle use for communication, is provided with: a reception unit that receives, from a server 500 that is an external device outside the vehicle, firmware update information including update firmware to be applied to one ECU among the multiple ECUs 100a-100d; and a control unit that determines, on the basis of information about the ECU to which the update firmware is to be applied, whether the ECU satisfies a predetermined condition or not, and that performs control such that the ECU executes a predetermined process related to an update of the firmware when the predetermined condition is satisfied and such that another ECU executes the predetermined process when the predetermined condition is not satisfied.
