Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a gathering device to constrain the thickness of a bundle of paper sheets created on a transport path. This gathering device comprises a paper feed unit that feeds, at a prescribed timing, paper sheets in paper feed trays one sheet at a time, a transport unit that transports a plurality of paper sheets supplied from the paper feed unit, and a supply unit that supplies, from the plurality of paper sheets transported by the transport unit, paper sheets to be gathered, wherein the paper feed unit executes a skip paper feed mode that controls the paper feed timing at which paper sheets are supplied from each paper feed tray in a single group to which two or more paper feed trays belong to be a first timing and controls the paper feed timing of paper sheets supplied from a paper tray that spans across two different groups to be a second timing longer than the first timing.
