Abstract:
A gating camera 20 divides, in the depth direction, a field of view into a plurality of ranges RNG1 to RNGN, and generates a plurality of slice images IMGs1 to IMGsN corresponding to the plurality of ranges RNG1 to RNGN. An illumination device 22 has a light emission timing that is controllable, and emits probe light L1 synchronously with a light emission timing signal S1. An image sensor 24 can be exposed synchronously with an exposure timing signal S2. A camera controller 26 controls, for each of the ranges, the timing at which the illumination device 22 emits light and the timing at which the image sensor 24 captures images, and controls the effective imaging range of the image sensor 24 in accordance with vehicle speed.
