Abstract:
This gear device comprises an internal gear 28A and an external gear that meshes with the internal gear 28A. The internal gear comprises: an internally-toothed ring part 40 which has internal teeth provided to the inner periphery thereof; an outer ring part 42 which is provided on the outside of the internally-toothed ring part 40 in the radial direction; and an easily deformable part 44 which is provided between the internally-toothed ring part and the outer ring part 42 and is configured to be easier to deform than the internally-toothed ring part 40. A strain sensor 50 is installed on the easily deformable part 44. The easily deformable part 44 is configured to have a smaller range of variation in the strain distribution in the radial direction as compared with a case in which the easily deformable part 44 is composed of a single material that is so formed as to have a uniform axial thickness toward the radial direction.
