Abstract:
The invention improves the service life of a gear device provided with a gear shaft and a pair of ball-and-roller bearings for rotatably supporting the gear shaft. The gear device (1) comprises: a gear shaft (2) rotated by output from a drive source and provided with a small gear (3) having peripherally disposed tooth sections for meshing with a large gear (4); and a pair of conical roller bearings (20, 20) disposed to either side of the small gear (3) in the axial direction and adapted to rotatably support the gear shaft (2) in a tooth shaft box (5). The pair of conical roller bearings (20, 20) is disposed symmetrically so as to be able to support both a radial load and an axial load in either direction. An extension line (EL1) of the load action line of one of the conical roller bearings (20) and an extension line (EL2) of the load action line of the other of the conical roller bearings (20) are configured so as to intersect at the outside diameter of an outer ring (22).
