Abstract:
A gear positioning device according to an embodiment comprises: a chuck for holding a gear, a rotational driving mechanism for rotationally driving the chuck so that the gear rotates around a prescribed axis of rotation, a displacement meter for continuously or periodically acquiring measured values expressing the distance between a reference point positioned outside the gear and the outer peripheral surface of the gear while causing the gear to rotate, and a control device for setting a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the gear as a portion to be measured on the basis of the rotation angle of the gear, the measured values, and at least one predetermined reference value and controlling the rotation driving mechanism such that the portion to be measured is disposed at a reference position.
