Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a gear pump or a gear motor in which a component constituting a casing is positioned with high precision; and a method for manufacturing the gear pump or gear motor. [Solution] A gear pump 10 or a gear motor comprises: gears 12, 14; a body 26 having a first end surface 34; an inner wall 30 which is formed inside the body 26 and which has a portion that is contacted by tooth tips of the gears 12, 14; a gear storage chamber 32 which is formed by the inner wall 30 and in which the gears 12, 14 are stored; a first cover 28 which has a second end surface 36, the second end surface 36 being attached to the first end surface 34 of the body 26; a first recess 48 formed in the first end surface 34; a second recess 50 formed in the second end surface 36; and a first positioning member 52 which is inserted in a space formed by the first recess 48 and the second recess 50, and which contacts the first recess 48 and the second recess 50.
