Abstract:
A gear pump configured in such a manner that a pair of gears is driven and rotated to discharge operating oil, which is sucked from the suction port, from the discharge port. A gear pump comprising a pair of gears which is contained within the cavity in the pump body, and pressing members which are contained within the cavity and seal the side surfaces of the gears by being pressed to the side surfaces by the pressure of the operating oil. A cutout is formed in an edge of the contact surface of each pressing member which makes contact with a gear, said edge being that which is on the suction port side. The configuration prevents the volumetric efficiency of the pump from lowering even if burrs are formed along gear tracks.
