Abstract:
Disclosed is a gear shift indicator capable of lessening annoyance felt by a driver. An EFI-ECU obtains the running condition of a vehicle (step s11), and calculates the target gear in order to improve fuel efficiency (step s12). In addition, the EFI-ECU (13) obtains the current gear (step s13). Next, in the event that the current gear differs from the target gear, the EFI-ECU (13) determines that there is a need for a gear shift indication (Yes in step S14). Also, in the event that the EFI-ECU (13) determines that AI control is operating (Yes in step S15) and that the target gear calculated in step S12 is a restricted gear forbidden under AI control (Yes in step S17), the EFI-ECU (13) does not display a gear shift indication.
