The present invention relates to a gearbox for automobile seat sliding, which allows a worm shaft and worm wheel nut to be installed without the fabrication of individual housings and allows a seat to move by preventing the seat from being pushed at the time of collision. The gearbox comprises: a fixing bracket which is coupled to an upper rail having a seat and has a recessed portion formed at the longitudinal center portion thereof and having open opposite sides; a worm shaft and a worm wheel nut rotatably installed while being perpendicular to each other inside the recessed portion of the fixing bracket; a pair of support covers coupled to the opposite sides of the recessed portion of the fixed bracket so as to face each other and rotatably supporting the worm shaft; a pair of support plates installed in the recessed portion to be perpendicular to the supports covers, and rotatably supporting the worm wheel nut through a slide bush disposed in a slidable manner; and a locking unit installed in the recessed portion to be spaced apart from a lead screw while being adjacent to the slide bush, and locking, when an impact load occurs, with the lead screw while moving by the slide bush to block the movement of the gearbox.
