Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a geared motor with which it is possible to suppress the rebound of gears, even if a stopper mechanism provided to a gear train is activated; and a pointer display device. [Solution] The geared motor 100 and pointer device are provided with a stopper mechanism 9 which restricts the range of movement of the trailing-side gear 42 when the trailing-side gear 42 rotates in a counter-clockwise CCW direction. In the stopper mechanism 9, the part 92 to be touched by the stopper comprises a support-side protrusion 28 which protrudes towards the center of rotation of the trailing-side gear 42, and the width dimension in the peripheral direction of the support-side protrusion 28 is smaller on the inside in the radial direction than on the outside in the radial direction. As a consequence, even if the width in the peripheral direction of the support-side protrusion 28 is increased to a certain extent in order to ensure strength, when the stopper mechanism 9 is activated, the stopper touching part 91 and the part 92 to be touched by the stopper come into contact at a position close to the center of rotation of the trailing-side gear 42.
