Abstract:

A gel composition and a nail cosmetic are disclosed, which contain one, two or more of cationic surfactants having propylene oxide chain and/or ethylene oxide chain, an organic compound-modified clay mineral, and a solvent. Addition of the above-described specific cationic surfactants serves to well keep thixotropic properties by the organic clay mineral and depress change with time in viscosity and change in viscosity due to slight change in the amount of the organic solvent to an extremely small range.
