Title:
GEL MATERIAL FOR OPHTHALMIC TREATMENT USE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/119296
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a gel material for ophthalmic treatment use which is useful as an artificial vitreous body, wherein the gel material is a novel intraocular tamponade material which has a low swelling pressure and an adequate elastic force, is harmless to an ophthalmic tissue, particularly retina, and can keep the tamponade effect thereof steadily for a long period. [Solution] A gel material for ophthalmic treatment use, comprising a hydrogel in which gel precursor clusters are crosslinked to each other to form a three-dimensional network structure, said gel material being characterized in that each of the gel precursor clusters has a structure such that monomer units or polymer units at a concentration of lower than the critical gelation concentration of the monomer units or the polymer units are crosslinked to each other, and also has a relationship represented by the formula: G' < G" wherein G' represents a storage elastic modulus and G" represents a loss elastic modulus, and the hydrogel has a polymer content of 50 g/L or less and also has a storage elastic modulus G' of 1 to 10000 Pa and a fractal dimension of 1.5 to 2.5 at a frequency of 1 Hz.
