of the gene therapeutic apparatus according to the present invention.

BEST MODES FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Hereinafter, an explanation on the gene therapeutic method and the apparatus therefor using electro-magnetic pulse according to the present invention will be in detail discussed with reference to Figs. 1 to 4.

A gene therapeutic apparatus using using electro-magnetic pulse and wave according to the present invention has a plurality of magnetic field parts 10 to which the elements are combined. Each magnetic field part 10 is interconnected with electric wires 110. The pulse and wave generated in each magnetic field part 10 is irradiated at the affected part to stimulate inactive or latent genes and to transform into normal genes.

As shown in Figs. 1 to 4, the gene therapeutic apparatus according to the present invention comprises a main body 120 integrally formed of upper and lower parts; a tunnel-shaped upper magnetic field generating part 100 attached inside of main body 120 ; a lower magnetic field generating part 50 which is capable of moving back and forth and horizontal for patients to lie down and attached to the lower part of upper magnetic field generating part 120; a guide casing 70 supporting upper magnetic field generating part 50 and formed with a protrusion part to be inserted into a groove; an actuating part 40 attached at the lower end of guide casing 70 and having a motor 85 which drives a rack 15 and a pinion 20 causing lower magnetic field generating part 50 to move back and forth

according to the height and a motor 105 for driving a jack 95 which is regulated in the upward and downward direction; and a control part 30 having a regulating part which regulates the actuating part, a frequency regulating part which regulates the oscillation frequency, a timer, and a magnetic field regulating part which regulates the intensity of magnetic field and collectively controlling the respective parts.

Main body 120 is made of dampproof stainless material and has an oval figure covered by lead plates, to thereby keep it from emission of electro-magnetic field outside. The upper surface of lower magnetic field generating part 50 is formed of a board structure and is provided with a thin cushion.

In upper magnetic field generating part 100, a plurality of magnetic field parts 10 are comprised of a structure that the coil bobbin fitted within iron cores is attached to the upper tunnel and is connected by electric wire for supply of electric power. A plurality of magnetic field parts are arranged in a row and a column on the tunnel for generating magnetic field to each body portion.

Each magnetic field part 10 is 20-50cm in length, 10-20cm in width, 2-1 Ocm in height. The casing of each magnetic field part 10 is made of natural plastic and an electro-magnetic field generating material is filled within the casing.

In lower magnetic field generating part 50, a plurality of magnetic field parts 55 are arranged in a row and column inside of the board. A magnetic field regulating part regulates the intensity of magnetic field, to thereby apply the magnetic field only to the affected part.

In lower magnetic field generating part 50, a support bar inserted into a side groove 65 plays a role of a guide and a rack 15 and a pinion 20 are connected

on lateral side to move back and forth and a jack 75 is operated by a motor 80 attached at the lower surface of a guide casing 70 to thereby regulate vertically.

The upper plate of lower magnetic field generating part 50 is regulated vertically and guide bars 85 are attached at the four edges for smooth movement.

A vertical plate 25, which magnetic field parts put inside, is vertically installed at the front plate and an axial rod 35 installed to set the vertical plate up when used. A footboard 55 is installed at the other end to thereby the magnetic field be reached on the sole of the foot.

The magnetic field part, which is installed within the upper/lower magnetic field generating parts 100,50 is comprised of coil bobbin fitted within iron cores. The coils of the bobbin are connected simultaneously to thereby strengthen alternating magnetic field generated by flowing the electric current.

Magnetic flux density generated at the magnetic field can be regulated in the range of 1~5,000gauss.

The frequency regulator regulates the frequency generated at the respective magnetic field parts of upper/lower magnetic field generating parts 100, 50. The range of an oscillation frequency which is repeated per second is set between 1~1, OOOHz in alternating voltage or current.

The timer regulates time intervals in the range of 1-120 min according to the state of the affected part. If the setting time reaches, power supply is stopped and all systems are completed.

In a control part 30, a control plate, a magnetic field regulating part, a frequency regulator, timer, power switch, and a regulating part which regulates the

lower magnetic field generating part vertically and horizontally are attached to the upper part of a panel, to thereby control the therapeutic apparatus collectively.

The control part is connected to external computer or monitor. Since the circuit in each magnetic field part is equipped independently, it is possible to control each magnetic field part by changing the intensity of magnetic field and frequency according to the body portion.

The frequency is fluctuated by changing wavelength of the alternating magnetic force of the electro-magnetic field by means of the frequency regulator, to thereby give a diversified change to the affected parts of a patient and to promote a remedial effect.

Also, a power supply is separately connected to each magnetic field part 50 and a safety device (not shown) having a temperature sensor is installed within each magnetic field part, to thereby automatically shut off the power when the setting temperature is over and to prevent the therapeutic apparatus from being damaged.

In the gene therapeutic apparatus according to the present invention, a patient is laid on lower magnetic field generating part 50 and is moved intoward the tunnel by regulating the regulator attached to control part 30. Thereafter, the intervals betweens the surface of the upper magnetic field generating part and the patient are regulated to the least (lOcm).

Lower magnetic field generating part 50 has a motor 85 which drives a rack 15 and a pinion 20 causing lower magnetic field generating part 50 to move back and forth according to the height and a motor 105 for driving a jack 95

which is regulated in the upward and downward direction.

Regulating the height according to the size of the body is followed by regulating the intensity of magnetic field, frequency and timer. A power is supplied to the upper/lower magnetic field generating part by turning on the switch. When voltage intensity and frequency are set, magnetic field is generated and irradiated to the affected part of the body continuously and repeatedly. For activating an abnormal or inactive gene, that is an intron, magnetic field stimulates latent gene and mutated gene repeatedly, to thereby operate gene expression mechanism of the body. Therefore, abnormal or inactive gene is activated, which is effective on the affected part, especially on prevention, improvement and remedy of genetic disease.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY As described hereinbefore, since the patient feels no physical pain for magnetic field generated by electro-magnetic field and no side effect and little loss of magnetic field for within the tunnel, a gene therapeutic method and apparatus of the present invention has a remarkable effect on the selective therapy according to the affected part. Also, a gene therapeutic method and apparatus of the present invention activates latent or inactivated gene by stimulating them, which has notable effect on prevention, improvement and remedy of genetic disease by transforming the impaired gene to normal one. Therefore, the present invention will be very useful in the medical industry.

The present invention has been described in an illustrative manner, and it is to be understood the terminology used is intended to be in the nature of description rather than of limitation.

Many modifications and variations of the present invention are possible in light of the above teachings. Therefore, it is to be understood that within the scope of the appended claims, the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described.
