Abstract:
The present invention pertains to: a generation device configured so as to be capable of identifying packing methods; an identification information generation method; a reproduction device; and an image reproduction method. The present invention generates stereo packing identification information that identifies packing methods, for a plurality of area images of a spherical image packed in a packed frame. When packing is performed using one of the plurality of packing methods, a projected frame can be easily generated and rendered, on the basis of stereo packing identification information indicating the packing method, by generating the identification information. The present invention can be applied to situations in which a spherical stereoscopic image is transmitted and reproduced on the reception side.
