Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to: a generation device and generation method applicable to any mapping technique and making it possible to provide mapping in which a viewing direction is set to a high resolution; and a playback device and playback method. The generation device is provided with a normalisation unit for converting first vectors, which map a 360° image to a specified 3D model, to second vectors of a 3D model of a unit sphere. For example, the present disclosure can be applied to a generation device, or the like, that generates a 360° image from images taken in six directions and generates encoded streams in which a specified direction in the 360° image is set to a high resolution.
