Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a generation device and generation method and a reproduction device and reproduction method with which it is possible to approximately equalize the image quality of display images in all sight directions generated using an omnidirectional image. A resolution-lowering unit lowers the resolution of the omnidirectional image. A perspective projection unit projects the omnidirectional image mapped to a three-dimensional model to a plurality of two-dimensional planes and thereby generates a plurality of images. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a generation device and the like for generating an omnidirectional image from photographed images in six directions and generating a low-resolution stream and a high-resolution stream of the omnidirectional image.
