Abstract:

An automatic generator (G) comprising: an output core (6) having an output winding (7) wound thereupon; and a field core (8) having a main field winding (9) and an auxiliary field winding (10) wound thereupon. Either the output core (6) or the field core (8) becomes a stator (4) and the other becomes a rotor (5). A first rectifying element (11) is connected to the main field winding (9) and a second rectifying element (12) is connected to the auxiliary field winding (10). Power is generated as a result of the relative rotation between the stator (4) and the rotor (5). Initial excitation means (2, 31) are provided that apply magnetic force to either the output core (6) or the field core (8) or to both, in an amount required for initial excitation for power generation.
