Abstract:
A generator that causes a rotating body wherein permanent magnets are magnetized to rotate. The generator is constructed such that on both sides in the rotational axis direction of the rotating body, in which two or more permanent magnets are assembled such that N poles always are adjacent to S poles, stationary armature coils wherein coils are wound are provided so as to sandwich the rotating body therebetween, with a gap between the rotating body and the armature coils, and unlike a conventional generator, the armature core is parallel to the rotational axis, and the direction of the current flowing in the coils is parallel to the rotational axis. Thus, the structure is simpler than that of a conventional generator, and the generator housing can be made more compact. Furthermore, even for a rotating body in which the number of permanent magnet poles is increased, the same effect can be obtained by increasing the number of stationary armature coils or the like so as to achieve the same operation as the aforementioned generator.
