Abstract:
A gesture recognition device (1) which recognises gestures which shield the front surface of an imaging sensor (3) is provided with first detection units (characteristic point detection unit (15), characteristic point processing unit (17)) which detect changes in captured images between (Pa, Pb) when the front surface of the imaging sensor is blocked and when the front surface of the imaging sensor is not blocked; and second detection units (histogram calculation unit (21), histogram processing unit (23)) which, when capturing images when the front surface of the imaging surface is blocked, detect a region of the captured image where the gradient of brightness values does not reach a threshold.
