Abstract:
Provided is a glass composition that is for glass fibers, that can shorten a step for removing bubbles, and from which it is possible to obtain glass fibers having a low dielectric constant and a low dielectric loss tangent. A glass composition for glass fibers according to the present invention contains, with respect to the total amount of the glass composition for glass fibers, 0.0001-0.3500 mass% of Nb2O5 and 0.0010-0.0100 mass% of SO3, and contains, when the remaining portion resulting from excluding SO3 and Nb2O5 from the total amount is defined as 100 parts by mass, 48.0-60.0 parts by mass of SiO2, 18.4-27.0 parts by mass of B2O3, 10.8-17.0 parts by mass of Al2O3, 0-2.5 parts by mass of MgO, 0-6.0 parts by mass of CaO, 0-4.5 parts by mass of SrO, 0.5-3.5 parts by mass of TiO2, and F2 and Cl2 in a range of 0-2.5 parts by mass in total. The value of SO3/Nb2O5 is in a range of 0.07-13.70.
