Abstract:
The amount of an alkali eluted from the inner face of a glass container can be largely reduced compared with the existing cases.
Under heating, the inner face of a glass container is treated with one or more kinds of gases selected from among sulfurous acid gas, sulfur trioxide gas, chlorine gas and Freon gas. After gradually cooling, a polysilazane solution is applied to the inner face of the glass container, dried and then sintered to thereby form a silicon dioxide coating film on the inner face of the glass container. Owing to the synergistic effects of the treatment with, for example, the sulfurous acid gas and the treatment with polysilazane, the amount of an alkali eluted from the inner face of the glass container is largely reduced compared with the existing cases.
