Abstract:
A glass fiber production method by a centrifugal method, and a glass fiber production device. Molten glass (B) is fed into a hollow cylinder of a heated rotary unit (1) rotated at high speed by a drive unit to discharge, by a centrifugal force by the fast rotation of the rotary unit (1), primary filaments to the outside of a peripheral wall (2) from holes (31, 32) alternately drilled in the circumferential direction of the wall (2) and having different hole diameters, the primary filaments are conducted to a flame stream (G), jetting from a stretch burner (9) outside the wall (2), for fibrillating to form secondary fibers, and a compressed gas stream (S) jetting from an outlet (13) directed at an acute angle from a jet nozzle (12) for a compressed fluid is allowed to collide against the secondary fibers to thereby produce glass fibers continuously.
