Abstract:
The glass filler of the present invention comprises a glass base material and a coating film containing a surface treating agent, said coating film coating at least a part of the surface of the glass base material. The glass base material is a glass fiber having a flat cross-sectional shape. In the glass base material, when the length corresponding to the minor axis in the flat cross-section of the glass fiber is represented by L1, the length corresponding to the major axis thereof is represented by L2 and the length corresponding to the fiber length of the glass fiber is represented by L3, then the ratio of the mean of L2 to the mean of L1 [(mean of L2)/(mean of L1)] is 1.5-8 inclusive, the mean of L1 is 1.0-10 μm inclusive, the means of L3 is 3 μm or more and less than 80 μm and the mean of L3 is greater than the mean of L2. The surface treating agent contains a silane coupling agent. In the glass filler, the coating film is contained at a ratio of 0.05-2.5% by mass inclusive.
