Abstract:
Disclosed is a glass for an illumination lamp, which contains CeO2, can
block an UN ray having a wavelength of 313 nm effectively, and has a high transparency. Also
disclosed is a jacket for a fluorescent lamp, which uses the glass. Further disclosed
is a method for production of the jacket. The glass comprises the following components
(by mass): SiO2: 55-75%; B2O3: 11-25%; Al2O3:
0-10%; Li2O + Na2O + K2O: 3-13%; MgO: 0-30%; CaO:
0-30%; SrO: 0-30%; BaO: 0-30%; ZnO: 0-30%; CeO2: 0.3-10%; SnO2:
0.2-10%; TiO2: 0-0.3 (exclusive); and Cl2: 0-0.4%.
