Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/104036
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a device and method that can effectively reduce the gas bubble inclusions in spun glass fibers. A glass-melting device (10) for producing a glass fiber comprises a first glass-melting tank (12) that is exposed to a vacuum atmosphere, a second glass-melting tank (14) and a third glass-melting tank (16) disposed below the first glass-melting tank (12), an ascending conducting pipe (18) whereby molten glass that has been melted in the second glass-melting tank is fed upwards (14) to the first glass-melting tank (12), a descending conducting pipe (20) whereby the molten glass from the first glass-melting tank (12) is fed downwards to the third glass-melting tank (16), a vacuum housing (22), and a bushing (24), wherein independent heating means are provided to heat the first glass-melting tank (12), the second glass-melting tank (14), the third glass-melting tank (16), the ascending conducting pipe (18), the descending conducting pipe (20) and the bushing (24).
