Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to prevent the strength of a glass panel unit from deteriorating. This glass panel unit (90) is provided with a first substrate (1), a second substrate (2), a frame-shaped sealing material (5), and a plurality of pillars (4). The first substrate (1) includes a first glass plate (15). The second substrate (2) includes a second glass plate (25). The frame-shaped sealing material (5) is in airtight contact with the first substrate (1) and the second substrate (2). The plurality of pillars (4) are at positions surrounded by the sealing material (5). Each of the plurality of pillars (4) includes a protrusion (61) configured from a portion of the second glass plate (25).
