Abstract:
The present invention prevents decrease in the protective function of a protective material with respect to a metal material for peripheral sealing. A glass panel according to the present invention is provided with: a pair of glass plates 1A, 1B, which face each other; a void part V which is formed by a spacer that is arranged between the pair of glass plates 1A, 1B; a metal material for peripheral sealing, which is filled into a peripheral part V1 of the pair of glass plates 1A, 1B, and which is directly bonded to the glass plates 1A, 1B so as to hermetically seal the void part V; and a protective material 21 which is bonded to end faces 1AE, 1BE of the pair of glass plates 1A, 1B and covers the metal material 3 for peripheral sealing, said metal material 3 being filled into the peripheral part V1 of the pair of glass plates 1A, 1B. The respective end faces 1AE, 1BE of the pair of glass plates 1A, 1B are covered by the protective material 21, while being provided with a plurality of grooves 22 that extend in the longitudinal direction of the glass plates.
