A glass sheet manufacturing apparatus comprises: a forming main body (2) for forming a glass sheet by uniting flows of molten glass (G) at a lower-end part (5c) while allowing molten glass (G) overflowing from both sides of an overflow groove (4) to flow down along a wedge-shaped outer-surface part (5); and a pair of covering members (3) fitted around both widthwise ends of the forming main body (2), the pair of covering members (3) forming regulation wall parts (3b) for regulating the spread of the molten glass (G) flowing down along the outer-surface part (5) of the forming main body (2). Extensions (6) are formed on the regulation wall parts (3b) of the pair of covering members (3), respectively, the extensions (6) extending toward a widthwise center point while covering a lower region including the lower-end part (5c) of the forming main body (2) from below the lower region, and the tip ends of the extensions (6) are directed towards a down-flow area for the main flow of molten glass (Ga) which normally flows down along the outer-surface part (5) of the forming main body (2).
