Abstract:
In cases where this glass substrate is used as a glass substrate for a solar cell, the conversion efficiency of the solar cell is improved by diffusing alkali components from the glass substrate to a photoelectric conversion layer, and also the weather resistance of the glass substrate is improved. Disclosed is a glass substrate wherein: at a depth of 5000 nm or greater from the surface of a first surface of the glass substrate, Na2O+K2O is from 1 to 30% in mass% in terms of oxide contents; on the first surface of the glass substrate, when the count of 54Fe/30Si is measured in the depth direction from the glass substrate surface by secondary ion mass spectrometry, the distance "A" from the glass substrate surface at the peak position in the 54Fe/30Si count is from 6 to 18 (µm); on a second surface opposing the first surface of the glass substrate, the amount "B" of Sn atoms per unit area as measured by ICP atomic emission spectroscopy is from 0.5 to 4 (µg/cm2); and the ratio "A/B" of said "A" to said "B" is from 5 to 15 (µm/(µg/cm2)).
