Abstract:
A glass substrate detection device and method are used for detecting whether a glass substrate (40) borne in a cartridge (50) is damaged. The detection device comprises at least one sensor group and at least one processing unit (14). The sensor group comprises a light casting component (11) located at one side of a glass substrate and two light receiving components (12, 13) respectively located at two sides of the glass substrate. The processing unit (14) is used for determining whether a luminance difference between luminance detected by the two light receiving components is in a predefined range, and if the luminance difference is not in the predefined range, the detected glass substrate is damaged. In the foregoing manner, the present invention can reduce the number of damaged glass substrates that enter a production line of display panels or avoid a damaged glass substrate in the production line of display panels.
