Abstract:
A glass unit according to the present invention is provided with: a first glass plate; a second glass plate that is disposed opposite to the first glass plate with a predetermined gap therebetween and that forms an internal space between the second glass plate and the first glass plate; a sealing material that seals a clearance between the peripheral edges of the first glass plate and the second glass plate; and a plurality of spacers that are each disposed between the first glass plate and the second glass plate. The pressure in the internal space is reduced to a vacuum state. The thickness of each of the first and second glass plates is not more than 5.0 mm. The cross-sectional area S (mm2) of each of the spacers satisfies formulas (1): R≤(800/π)·S+13 and (2): 25·10-4π≤S≤400·10-4π, wherein R is the distance from a certain spacer to the nearest spacer.
