Abstract:
Disclosed is glass with low solar transmittance, which is characterized by containing soda lime silica glass as the base composition and containing, as color components, 0.70-1.70% by mass of Fe2O3 (the total iron in terms of trivalent iron), 0.15-0.45% by mass of FeO (divalent iron), 0-0.8% by mass of TiO2, 100-350 ppm of CoO, 0-60 ppm of Se, 100-700 ppm of Cr2O3 and 3-150 ppm of MnO. The glass with low solar transmittance is also characterized in that the ratio of the divalent iron to the trivalent iron (Fe2+/Fe3+) is 0.20-0.80. The glass has excellent ultraviolet light absorption performance and infrared light absorption performance (heat insulation performance), while having adequate see-through properties.
