Abstract:
Provided is a copolymer which has excellent ozone resistance and which, when incorporated into rubber compositions, can improve the crack propagation resistance of the rubber compositions. This copolymer is a graft polymer comprising a backbone polymer moiety and branch polymer moieties bonded to the backbone polymer moiety, characterized in that the backbone polymer moiety comprises unconjugated olefin units and aromatic vinyl units, at least some of the unconjugated olefin units being derived from ethylene and an unconjugated olefin compound having 4-10 carbon atoms and at least some of the aromatic vinyl units being derived from an aromatic vinyl compound having one or more alkyl groups bonded to the aromatic ring, that the branch polymer moieties include conjugated diene units, and that the proportion of the backbone polymer moiety to the branch polymer moieties, (backbone polymer moiety)/(branch polymer moieties), is 50/50 to 95/5 in mass%.
