Abstract:
Disclosed are novel granules which are capable of adsorbing and solidifying a large amount of a poorly soluble functional substance, while exhibiting excellent release properties for the functional substance in an aqueous environment. Specifically disclosed are granules each containing a carrier which contains porous calcium silicate, a functional substance and nonionic surfactant adsorbed on the carrier, and a binder. The granules are characterized in that the functional substance is composed of at least one substance selected from a group consisting of poorly soluble liquids, poorly soluble solids having a low melting point, and crude drug extracts containing a poorly soluble active ingredient.
