GRAVITATIONAL ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE REINFORCED BY COMPRESSION AND TENSION SPRINGS WITH SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION

Energy storage device based on a combination of two types of energy storage: gravity potential energy storage and storage by elastic potential energy stored in the springs. The system consists of a deep reservoir (1) filled with water, in which a heavy piston (2) is placed. The piston divides the reservoir (1) into two chambers, (3) and (4) which are linked by an inner duct (5). The latter passes through a reversible turbine pump (7) placed inside the piston (2). Two spring packs (10) are placed on either side of the piston (2). The lower pack consists of tension springs while the upper pack consists of compression springs (10). Excess energy generated by the renewable sources is used to compress the compression springs (10) and extend the tension springs (11) during the movement of the piston caused by water pumping. In the event of an energy requirement, the descent of the piston in addition to the elastic potential energy stored in the springs is used to press the water and operate the turbine-generator which supplies energy to the consumers.
