Patent Claim I claim a patent for exclusive rights on any bed of whatever size, colour or construction which by whatever means counters the pull of gravity by a constant upthrust force, and thereby produces partial or complete gravity free conditions for sleep. |
Name of Invention: Gravity-Free Bed.
Technical Category
Bed.
Previous Bed Technology
No previous technology for gravity-free beds exists.
Technical Nature of the Invention
Gravity-free bed is achieved by means of a perpetual counter force which is diametrically opposed to gravity and is of equal strength. Gravity is not eliminated, but negated. The two forces, being equal, cancel each other out and the resulting force is zero. This gravity resisting force is equally useful regardless of the source or type. Some examples are illustrated below.
Short Description of Enclosed Illustrations
1. The bed is balanced on "scales" as shown in Fig. 1, or on horizontal "balance" as indicated in Fig. 2.
2. The bed is lifted by means of hydraulic pressure as shown in Fig. 3.
3. The bed can also be pushed up by any type of motor as illustrated on Fig. 4.
4. The bed is elevated by four levers balanced with a liquid filled reservoir in the middle - Fig. 5.
5. Fig. 6 shows side view of the bed described above in Fig. 5.
6. The bed is lifted with four levers balanced by the weight of their effort arm, which is longer than the load arm. Fulcrums are in the four corners of the bed. Side view. Fig. 7. No similar bed has ever been described before. Spring beds, water beds, hammocks, swings or any other type of known beds do not produce a state of weightlessness for the sleeper.
Detailed Description of Bed Ml as an Example of the Gravity-Free Bed Invention
The bed floats on constantly lifting force generated by means of four levers under the bed. All effort arms are pulled continuously by their own weight and the weight of added chains. For this model the pull of gravity is used to defeat gravity. It is an elegant source of simple, reliable, efficient, safe, zero emission energy.
1. Elevation of the bed is achieved via four levers, (mounted on a frame - Fig. 8) which are joined in two pairs, as shown in Fig. 10.
2. The bed is equipped with two downwards protrusions for ease of suspension - Fig. 11, Fig. 12.
3. The bed is suspended on carrying chains as shown in Fig. 9, Fig. 10, Fig. 13, and Fig. 14.
4. The bed has automatic balancing between force and resistance arms of the four levers. This is achieved by means of two simple mechanisms:
4a. Carrying chains position can be changed to shorten resistance arm for heavier loads and vice versa as shown in Fig. 15.
4b. Attached to the force arms are metal chains. As the force arms rise upwards (because of the weight placed on the bed i.e. on the resistance arms) it gradually drags upwards consecutive links of the chains attached to it - Fig. 15. The result is that downward force applied on the force arms increases accordingly, thereby automatically countering pressure on the load arms of the levers.
Industrial Production
The Gravity-free bed is easily manufactured from steel rods/pipes by means of simple welding.
