Abstract:
A gravity-operated opening and closing gate controlled by water level is provided. In a lock chamber (1), a gate leaf (26), an opening and closing device, power facilities and a controlling device are mechanically linked each other. The leaf (26) is connected to the lock chamber (1) by transverse draglines (22, 23). The leaf (26) is connected to a rotation shaft (17) with positive moment of a vertical steel rope (16). A water tank (20) is connected to the rotation shaft (17) with a negative moment of another vertical steel rope (18). The water tank (20) is connected with a water supply device through soft pipes (39). The water supply device controls the supply of the water by water level and a float switch (31, 31'). The water level automatically controls storing and discharging of water in the water tank (20), therefore the water level automatically controls moving up and down of the water tank (20) and consequently opening and closing of the leaf (26).
