Abstract:
A gravity-powered electricity generator, which utilizes the weight of water to have a left weighted tank (2) and a right weighted tank (1) making alternately up-and-down reciprocating movements, during which, the left weighted tank (2) or the right weighted tank (1) drives a screw shaft (11) via a force-coupling driver (13) to rotate and to produce a strong torque, and ultimately, the torque produced by the screw shaft (11) drives an electricity generator (30) to generate electricity, thus achieving the goal of converting the potential energy of water into mechanical energy for electricity generation. The gravity-powered electricity generator obviates the need for fuel consumption throughout a power output process, is pollution-free, consumes a small amount of water, is not restricted by geographical conditions, remains unaffected by seasonal changes, has low requirements on dam height and flow rate, and has the advantages of being energy saving, environmentally friendly, highly efficient, and practical.
