Abstract:

A grease base oil containing a condensed ester of an alcohol (A) and a carboxylic acid (B), wherein the alcohol (A) contains a polyhydric alcohol represented by general formula (1), the carboxylic acid (B) contains a C5-9 fatty acid (B-1), a C15-20 branched fatty acid (B-2), a C4-8 cycloalkane monocarboxylic acid (B-3), and an aromatic carboxylic acid (B-4), the proportion of (B-1) in the carboxylic acid (B) is 30 to 50 mol% inclusive, the proportion of (B-2) is 30 to 50 mol% inclusive, (B-3) is 10 to 30 mol% inclusive, and (B-4) is 1 to 15 mol% inclusive. The grease base oil contains a condensed ester having heat resistance and low-temperature storage stability.
