Abstract:
Provided is a grease composition which makes it possible to simultaneously suppress fretting wear and bearing wear caused by a high load and to increase the life of a bearing. In addition, the grease composition is able to suppress fretting wear that occurs when there is a load change in the direction of thrust, as well as general fretting wear that occurs when there are micro-vibrations in the direction of oscillation. Furthermore, the grease composition has superior low-temperature characteristics. The grease composition contains a base oil and a thickening agent, wherein the base oil contains poly-α-olefin (component A) which is prepared by using a metallocene catalyst and which has kinematic viscosity of 300 mm2/s or higher at 40°C.
