Abstract:
The torque limiter (210) of the grinder (1) has a second bevel gear (211) and a spindle (213), and is also provided with a flange (212) to which the rotation of the second bevel gear (211) is transmitted, and balls (214) that move between a first region in which rotation is transmitted to the flange (212), and a second region in which transmission of rotation to the flange (212) is restricted. When a torque less than a prescribed value acts on the spindle (213): the balls (214) are located in the first region; the second bevel gear (211), the flange (212) and the balls (214) rotate as a unit; and rotation is transmitted to the flange (212). On the other hand, when a torque at or above the prescribed value acts on the spindle (213), the balls (214) move from the first region to the second region, restricting the transmission of rotation from the second bevel gear (211) to the flange (212) and thereby restricting the torque that acts on the spindle (213).
