Abstract:
A grinding and classifying method wherein an air flow is passed from a grinding zone (2) surrounded by a cylindrical inner peripheral surface into a classifying zone (8) surrounded by a frusto-conical inner peripheral surface while a raw material charged into the grinding zone (2) collides against a stirring and grinding blade (12) and ground as it is stirred by a centrifugal air flow produced by the stirring and grinding blade (12), so that the resulting particles, as they are fined, are successively carried on spiral air flow to the classifying zone (8), where as particles which are still coarse are returned to the grinding zone (2) along the slope of the inner peripheral surface by a centrifugal air flow produced by the rotation of the stirring and classifying blade (14), whereby only the particles which have been reduced to a predetermined particle size or less are carried on spiral air flow and taken out of the classifying zone (8); thus particles of desired particle size are obtained in a short time.
