Abstract:
The grinding machine is provided with a dividing wall and a clamp part. The dividing wall divides a machining area from a non-machining area excluding the machining area. The clamp part extends from the non-machining area toward the machining area through a main spindle hole in the dividing wall and clamps a workpiece by an end part thereof located in the machining area. In addition, the grinding machine is provided with a main spindle, a clamp cover, and a dresser. The main spindle has the clamp part, which is configured so as to be able to move through the main spindle hole. The clamp cover has a cylindrical shape surrounding the clamp part and moves between a close position close to the dividing wall and a distant position away from the dividing wall through the main spindle hole. The dresser is positioned in the vicinity of the main spindle hole and sharpens a grinding stone at a position further away from the dividing wall than the tip of the clamp cover and the tip of the clamp part located at the close position.
