Abstract:
Disclosed is a grommet fitting device (1, 1a) for attaching an eyelet (3) and a washer (4) to a base material (2), by interposing the base material (2) between the eyelet (3) and the washer (4). The washer (4) has a hole (4a) for joining with the eyelet (3), and is provided with a hole edge (41), which surrounds the perimeter of the hole (4a), and an outside edge (42), which is connected to the hole edge (41) and extends outward in a radial direction from the hole edge (41). The grommet fitting device is provided with an upper die (20) for disposing the eyelet (3), and a lower die (10) that is provided with a frame (11) opposite of the eyelet (3), a sleeve (12) — for holding the washer (4) — that is attached slidably in the axial direction of the frame (11) on the periphery of the frame (11), and an elastic member (13) for biasing the sleeve (12) in the direction of the upper die (20). The frame (11) is provided with a hole edge supporting face (16) for supporting the hole edge (41) of the washer, and which is disposed along the periphery of the frame (11), and further provided with a working face (15) for interacting with the tip of the eyelet (3) and cutting the base material (2), and which slopes upward from the hole edge supporting face (16) toward the center of the frame (11).
